International Joint Research Center of Shaanxi Province for Food and Health Sciences, a leading academic institution and science & technology cooperation base in Shaanxi Province, is established in Shaanxi Normal University, the People’s Republic of China. Directly administrated by the Ministry of Education of China, Shaanxi Normal University is a key university under the construction plan of China’s national “211 Project” and a university under China’s Innovation Platform Construction Plan of the “985” Superior Discipline of Teacher Education. The University is situated in the ancient capital city of Xi’an, one of the four internationally renowned historical and cultural cities. The research in International Joint Research Center of Shaanxi Province for Food and Health Sciences focuses on edible medicinal plants, nutrition and food safety, and foodborne illnesses. Catering to the national strategic demands for human health in the aging society, and aiming at the world frontiers of food and health sciences, efforts are made to promote original innovation in scientific research, to facilitate the science & technology exchanges among the scientists in China and other countries such as Russia, and to contribute to the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative.
